Should be close to zero. Either L1 has somehow gone bad or not properly soldered.
Measure resistance between pin 31 and pin 30 of Atmega. What is the reading?

9.6 0hm

Is it possible when I put the usb in backwards it hurt the inductor?

After checking I don't have an inductor available to swap.. Futurelec sent me .1uH inductors... which looking at the conversion is way to small..

Can you think of anything that might have a similar valued inductor in I could salvage?, I'd really like to get this going today

On Atmega between pins 30 and 31? Atmega is broken. Is it the same Atmega which you used when you applied power backwards?
L1 more likely is ok but with higher resistance than mine.

Its the 2nd atmega, one I programmed and was getting triggers on last night.

What could have possible cause this to happen? I didn't do anything to the main board at all, only fixed the solder joint on the jack pcb!

If it is my atmega broken I just don't want to put another one in and have it happen again... 2 is enough to break.

Check resistance between pins 30 and 31 of the first Atmega. What is it?

the pic from synthex between 30 and 31 is 27.5M, it doesn't completely stop moving though.

Also on PCB what is the resistance:
1. between pins 32 and 31 of the Atmega socket?
2. between pins 32 and 10 of the Atmega socket?
3. between pins 30 and 31 of the Atmega socket?

This looks good. Waiting for replies to my previous questions and I'll make suggestions.
