I have a 25k potentiometer and works well, but I don't know how to put in the Hihat stand, because is rotating movement. I think with gear rack - pinion system but i don't know where to buy this, and I look at many many shops and nobody knows nothing.

Thanks to Admir, you can use almost unbreakable design for HiHat pedal using LED: http://www.edrum.info/hihat.html
Only in my case I had to replace LDR with a phototransistor like this http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?Mod ... 6&doy=29m5 because with LDRs I had noticeable inertia.

I try to make this: http://www.batacas.com/foros/showthread.php?t=38391

I think this is the best idea for put the potenciometer in the hi-hat stand

In all cases when you measure resistance, do it while the pedal is disconnected from any modules. And also more important to measure tip-ring and tip-sleeve resistance.
When connected to a module - measure voltage on a tip.

I will disagree. LED design from Admir doesn't have moving electrical parts so it is almost guaranteed to work for ever.

VOltages with resistor:

TIP-SLEEVE
4,73V

RING-SLEEVE
FO - 1.15V
0.98V
0.70V
0.24V
FC - 0.0V

Tip(input)-sleeve(ground) voltage is constant and ring-sleeve is variable??? It should be vice versa(although ring-sleeve may vary but never come close to zero).

Should I Put the source in ring and the controller in tip?

I put source in ring and controller in tip and the hihat control is CLOSE with the pedal open and close
0.132V Open
0.130V
0.120V
0.006V Close

Looking at the schematic above:
Tip from a pedal controller must go to pin 3 of J1.1
Ring from a pedal controller must go to pin 1 of J1.1
Sleeve from a pedal controller must go to pin 20 of J1.2

I have the synthex kits 2.5 and the sleeve is OK. I haven't analogue board. The power source pin 3 and hihat controller pin 4

32 INPUTS Connector :

1 - GND
2 - GND
3 - Power source for HiHat controller
4 - HiHat controller input
5 - Kick
6 - NC

the 3 on ring and the 4 on tip i have now

I have a resistor 4,4K between tip and sleeve
