i simply through there was no need for connections 15-16...

and yes, i AM using the grey LCD connector with the RED stripe/wire on it
shown here to the left:

But on the photo, the cable has 16 wires.
And your cable comes from the same roll.

pin 1 to 3
won't give a stable reading - anything from 1.80 to 3.10

Check pin 3 for loose connectivity to the board.
Check the soldering of pin 3 of the LCD socket on the board.
Check that R23, R24 and C16 are properly soldered.

perhaps you should notice other people who got that wire as well.

Pin 3 is connected safely to the board.
checked with multimeter, and while "pulling" the wire.

Pin 3 is soldered nicely to the LCDsocket on the board.

R23, R24 are good.

C16 ?? where is C16

and C9, R19, R21 are also good (yes i read what you told me to about LCD problems :) )

You're looking at the wrong schematic. You're using the Synthex's PCB, aren't you? So you should be looking at the schematic for his kit.

And by the way, by "flickering" do you mean contrast flickering or back light flickering?

oops.

well on the right (Synthex's) schematic for this

"Check that R23, R24 and C16 are properly soldered."
all the resistors are still good.
and the C16 on Synthex's schematic was just hard to find ;)

but yes - C16 is good (well solder, in place) as well.

the blue backlight is working perfectly now.

so definetely contrast flickering.

pin 1-3

You're not precise again:) 1-2 cannot be flickering otherwise the LCD wouldn't work at all. It is definitely 1-3.
Measure voltage on pin 3 of the LCD connector on the board. What is it? Is it also flickering?
