Inquery about MegaDrum...

hi all, I'm new to MegaDrum, and after searching through tons of material and photos I've been thoroughly convinced that I want to tackle on this project!

My needs as a drummer, however, do not require all of those inputs, so my question is...

Is there a way to make a simpler version of MegaDrum? one that takes say 5 inputs max?

I don't know the logistics of it all, I've never built a circuit board before, so... I'm pretty much in the dark :)

basically what I want to build is a practice Tenor Pad, aka marching quads/quints, so I have no need for the 32+ inputs and things.

Any thoughts and comments are immensely appreciated!!!

You can simply limit yourself on input jacks with whatever number you need. This may be a noticeable money saver. You can also solder only the first MUXer IC (4051 on my schematic) and will only need as many bat85 diodes as the number of inputs you want (2 diodes per input).

Ok, so what I've done so far is "attempted" to reduce the number of items in the Analogue Board design.

I have:
1 10-pin pad connector
16 BAT85 diodes, for 8 connections,
1 IC 4051
9 resistors
1 capacitor
and 1 6-pin connector

am I going to need both capacitors for this board to function? since there's only two in the original design I didn't really know how to do that, so I just removed one. Again, I'm working on pure intuition here... :P

does it look like it could work? or did I totally mess this up :?:

I think it will work perfectly well. Just make sure that you did traces routing right.
